We both had such enriching childhoods; we want to share those same experiences with our child. Mandy grew up in a large city in Texas and Nate grew up in a smaller town in West Virginia. We both had many wonderful childhood experiences including ballet, tee-ball, soccer, basketball, boy scouts and girl scouts, swimming, sledding, trips to the library and the park (Mandy even had a train they could ride at her park!), and plenty of vacations including Colorado, Maine, and Disney World. We can’t wait to get to create new experiences like these with our new baby! The most important experience we both had though, was the love of God that our parents taught us to have. We were both very involved with our home congregations, Nate was an expert song leader and Mandy taught Sunday school and helped out in the Children’s worship hour. Our greatest desire is to make sure we share this love of God with our child, and to make sure our child grows up knowing Him.
Nate works for our local university as the “I.T. guy” in their admissions department. He has a flexible job and is able to work from home on occasion. His hobbies include video games, computers, biking, camping, and golfing. Nate is caring, dependable, trustworthy, laid back, and friendly. Mandy is an elementary music teacher and enjoys the variety of experiences she has every day, and the hugs she receives from her 430 students. She enjoys all school holidays and her two-month summer vacation. Her interests include scrapbooking, crocheting, sewing, camping and watching movies. She has made nursing covers for many of her friends at church who have had babies, and she is looking forward to sewing cute clothes for her own baby. Mandy’s outgoing and compassionate personality make it easy for her to meet new people, and she is always trying to figure out what she can do to help others.
